Integration guide

Using Zoom cloud recordings in Minutes Services

How to connect your Zoom account, bring a cloud recording into a minutes order, and disconnect Zoom when you no longer want to.

Step 1

Adding the integration

You connect Zoom from inside a specific order, the first time you want to use a Zoom recording for it.

  1. Sign in to Minutes Services and open New Order.
  2. In the Recordings & transcripts section, select the Zoom recording tab.
  3. Click Connect Zoom. You'll be sent to Zoom to sign in (if you aren't already) and approve access for Minutes Services.
  4. Zoom returns you to the order page. Minutes Services now shows a list of your Zoom Cloud Recordings.

If a recording you expect doesn't appear yet, see Troubleshooting below.

Step 2

Using it

Choose a date range

The recording list defaults to the last 30 days. Use the dropdown to look further back, up to 90 days.

Refresh while Zoom is still processing

A just-finished meeting can take a few minutes for Zoom to finish processing before it's listed. Click Refresh to check again.

Attach a recording to the order

Select the recording you want. Minutes Services downloads its audio and starts the same transcription and drafting process as an uploaded file.

What we access

Only your list of Zoom Cloud Recordings and the recording files you choose to attach. We never access your live meetings, chat, or local recordings.

Prerequisites: your Zoom plan must have Cloud Recording enabled, and the meeting must have been recorded to the cloud (not saved locally) for it to appear in this list.

Step 3

Removing it

Disconnect from Minutes Services

On the Zoom recording tab, click Disconnect Zoom. This immediately revokes and deletes the access token we stored for your account.

What stays, what doesn't

Disconnecting doesn't delete or change any recording you've already attached to an order, and it doesn't touch anything in your Zoom account. It only removes our ability to list and fetch new recordings until you connect again.

Removing our app from Zoom entirely

To also remove Minutes Services from your Zoom account's installed apps (not just disconnect within Minutes Services), do so from Zoom's own installed apps page.

Troubleshooting

Common issues

Zoom needs to finish processing a cloud recording before it's available through its API. A short test meeting has appeared within about 10 minutes in our own testing; a longer meeting will take longer. Click Refresh on the Zoom recording tab to check again, and widen the date range if it was more than 30 days ago.

Confirm the meeting was recorded to the cloud, not saved as a local recording, and that Cloud Recording is enabled on your Zoom plan. Only cloud recordings are visible to this integration.

This can happen if Zoom access was revoked or expired. Click Connect Zoom again to reauthorize - your past orders and drafts aren't affected.
